Hymn words
Sacred Space
When we gather here together,
We create a sacred space.
By our purpose and our presence,
We make room for holy grace.
As we light our flaming chalice,
We remember those who blazed
Trails of love and paths of justice
Through our hist’ry’s darker days.
When we share our songs and stories,
Tears fall softer, joys
When the Christmas Star is Shining
When the Christmas star is shining
In the night sky overhead
And the city streets are silent
And the children safe in bed,
You may not see Santa passing
With his reindeer and his sleigh,
But a horde of willing helpers
Still prepare for Christmas day.
We are each a tiny fragment
Of the boundless world
Te Deum Laudamus
We praise you O God:
unfailing friend and guide
Through whose creative presence:
day by day the cosmos comes alive.
We imagine angels:
praising you on high,
Where cherubim and seraphim:
continually cry:
Holy, Holy, Holy:
Highest, Truest, Best;
Heaven and earth:
are overflowing with your grace.
We picture the apostles:
casting down their golden crowns.
The martyrs
Praise to this the Holy night
Tune: Gerontius
Praise to this the Holy night,
And all look on in awe.
Christ child born in Holy grace,
Under western star.
Peace to the world this Holy day,
For all who pray in hope.
Christ child born in of Bethlehem,
Under risen sun.
Joy to the world, this Holy day,
Sing we
Showing up to fight for justice
Showing up to fight for justice,
Moving forward hand in hand,
Working, praying, singing, striving,
For a fair and equal land.
Marching on the side of justice,
Let our banners be un-furled,
May our words and actions lead us,
To a fair and equal world.
Standing on the side of justice,
Reaching out in care and love,
