Theme “Reflection”
Sacred Space
When we gather here together,
We create a sacred space.
By our purpose and our presence,
We make room for holy grace.
As we light our flaming chalice,
We remember those who blazed
Trails of love and paths of justice
Through our hist’ry’s darker days.
When we share our songs and stories,
Tears fall softer, joys
You call us out of the singularity of our everyday world
Spirit of life, love, and community, you have called us into a world of the common and the shared.
In the concerns and worries, the need, and the want of our usual comings and goings we find it hard to stop and consider deeply what we are doing. In the hurry of a working day, in
Meditation for Winter
As the days shorten, and Christmas
and the Winter Solstice draw near,
It is time to follow the wisdom of the trees.
This season should be one of
stillness, darkness, dormancy, and rest.
Humankind was not created
to be constantly on the run –
like all created beings,
we need to remember to take time out
In prayer we look back at a year gone by
In prayer we look back at a year gone by.
There have been triumphs, sometimes disasters and often periods of quietness and inertia.
We have gained and possibly lost.
We have promised and fulfilled, promised and not fulfilled.
We have known moments of joy and moments of sadness.
Our year has been better or worse
